We’ve added a new (hopefully) useful feature for verified users: “Recently Viewed”.

When you go to your homepage on commuting.in, below your active time windows you will find a new section of recently viewed busses. This provides you with quick links to the last five busses that you got predictions for (whether from your homepage, viewing a favorite, or checking out a new bus).

This should make it easier for tracking a bus that you don’t use often enough to make a favorite, but that you might be checking out a couple times in a row (like to see if you’re going to catch that connecting bus..).

We have a couple more things coming soon in the pipeline, so stay tuned!

As always, if you run into any bugs, or have any ideas about things that might be a good addition, drop us a line at info@commuting.in.

I got an email from Harper (maintainer of the unofficial CTA transit API proxy) on friday letting me know that the CTA would be changing their API slightly in the next day or two. Since that API is where all the good information on commuting.in comes from, I was incredibly pleased to have advance warning that the API was going to be changing. Big thanks to Harper for that info, and to the CTA for providing him that info.

I had a chance to get online tonight and got all the good stuff converted over to the new API structure.

So, sorry that things (most notably predictions) were down for a bit earlier today (and maybe tomorrow…) but all should be back to normal now.

Please drop us a line at info@commuting.in if you notice anything acting funny.

Thanks!

(btw, there are some new things added to the API which should be making their way into commuting.in soon. Keep your eyes peeled!)
